A MESSAGE FROM DR. WAGNER...
Dear Visitation Community,
I am honored and excited to introduce myself as the new principal of Visitation School. I am starting my 25th year in education with a bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University, a Master in Curriculum and Instruction, and a doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy studies from the University of Kansas. I feel blessed to be in a role where I can touch the lives of so many students and families which is why I am deeply committed to fostering an environment where every child feels valued, supported, and empowered to reach their fullest potential. As we embark on this journey together, I am eager to share my vision and goals for the upcoming school year, building on the strong foundation of faith, academic excellence, and community spirit that defines our school. “Visitation School forms strong, compassionate followers of Christ, through rigorous academics rooted in Catholic values, to serve and lead others”. Our teachers and staff vow to continue to make all decisions that are aligned with this mission. We will focus on the three main pillars of our mission, spiritual development, academic excellence and community partnership. At the heart of our mission is the spiritual development of our students. The next two years a theology class for all grade levels will be implemented to support the initiatives from the diocese. The lessons will be interactive and engaging to deepen the understanding of Catholic teachings. Our commitment to academic excellence remains unwavering. To ensure our students receive the best education possible, we will Implement differentiated instruction strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of our students, ensuring each child is challenged and supported. Professional development of evidence based practices and Integration of technology to enhance learning with a 21st Century approach will be utilized. A strong school community is vital for the success of our students. This year, we will foster a welcoming and inclusive environment where every student, parent, and staff member feels valued and respected, strengthen communication between school, parish and home through regular updates, newsletters, and parent-teacher conferences, and encourage parent and community involvement in school activities and mass participation. I am truly blessed to join the Visitation family and am committed to working collaboratively with all of you to make this school year a remarkable one. Together, let us inspire our students to achieve their fullest potential, grounded in faith, knowledge, and service. Thank you for your warm welcome and support. I look forward to meeting each of you and embarking on this journey together. Blessings, Dr. Melissa Wagner Principal, Visitation School |
